I was renting a 5x10 unit and just upgraded to a 10x10. I left a voicemail with information and asked for someone to call me back when they could. Less than 5 minutes later I received a call from a super helpful who explained pricing and options available to me, and let me hang up while she completed the unit transfer for me using my credit card and information already on file! It was so easy and fast I couldn’t believe it!

Megan was super helpful getting me set up and moved in with a unit!! The whole team was great to work with, from putting me on a reservation to hold my unit, all the way up to helping me after hours when I couldn’t figure out how to close the door (lol). Very professional in every phone call I’ve had with them and prompt when following up. The unit itself was clean and spacious, with much higher ceilings than expected from a storage unit. Move out process was simple and easy as well, would definitely go back if needed again in the future! Great experience through and through!

Great location, clean units, lights in units, security gate, easy open units. I think it’s a bit pricey for the gate and keypad not working the majority of the time. I will also say that in the years that I had this unit, my price increased twice a year. Insurance is also required, you can get a discount if you have insurance elsewhere.

Had issues getting a unit rental finalized. Evidently they are experiencing staffing shortage at the Traverse City MI location. Someone in the Grand Rapids office was supposed to call me the morning of the move. She did not call. I had movers waiting outside the gate to unload. They are $165 per hour and sat waiting for about a half hour. I was finally contacted by the person in Grand Rapids after making several calls to find out what was going on. Now I'm out that half hour of pay to the movers. I was disappointed in the fact that it was supposed to be security storage with a gate and a passcode to open the gate.......the gate was never closed. It was open every time I went to the unit. Paid more for their unit because of the added security that didn't exist.

When National Storage purchased the storage unit we had been renting for approximately 10 years, the price went up significantly with additional price increases annually. We always paid on time and 1 particular instant, USPS didn't deliver our check. We received communication saying our payment was late. I called and said if the payment wasn't received by the next day, let me know and I would personally deliver the check. We were assessed a late payment fee and the management said there was nothing he could do about the late fee. I suggested he just take it off - he wasn't willing to budge. On a positive note, the facility was always clean and plowed out during the winter months. Because of the costliness since National Storage took over, we eventually went elsewhere.

I would love to leave a 5-star review but I can't. Signing up was easy and the storage unit was clean and well let. Drive-up access made it easy to use. The two problems I had were: 1) getting a U-haul truck stuck because they did not plow. 2) I called to inform them I had vacated the unit. The lady told me she would annotate it. Two days later I received a calling asking if I'd vacated the unit.

I've been trying to make a payment for weeks. They never answer the phone and wait days or weeks to call back when I leave a message. Then I owe more because I could not get through any person or device to pay them. The last few weeks, the kiosk has been freezing up when I try to pay. They added $100 to my bill without notice to "remove it from the auction list". Every time I go to the office, it's dark, locked and no one is there to answer the door. I've tried to pay the day my bill is due, but the self-pay kiosk said I had a $0 balance, then the next day I was charged a $20 late fee. I have family heirlooms in that unit that I am probably losing because I have no way to actually submit the payment I have. The gates never work, the new app they make you use is always rejecting my log in info, payment info, and gate code. So when I have a $0 balance I still have no access to my own belongings, then they dodge communication until they've tacked on so many mysterious "fees and charges" that I can't afford to even move my stuff out.

I started renting here when it was safe harbor. The price doubled while I had a unit after National Storage took over. The gate almost never functions. So you are either locked out or it is left open. I had insurance the entire time and despite submitting my paperwork I was still charged their insurance fee. They charge you for everything, even your bill. Would not recommend.

Actually if I could give zero stars I would. This is hands down the worst storage I have ever had to deal with. The manger is horrible and always late. Their gates never work. Which is why the manger being on time is an issue. I am consistently having to shut crews down or have crews start late due to the gates never working. I have storages across the nation and this one is the worst. I have asked for the owners number or someone the manager answers to and she always says I'm in charge. Well if you are in charge then fix your gates. Rest assured we will be taking our business someplace else very soon. If you don't care when you get to your stuff or about access like you are supposed to have then by all means store here. If you are wanting to have access and know the gates will work when needed avoid this place like the plague.
