National storage is by far the best storage facility in Owensboro hands down! Kayla works in the office she's a sweetheart and does her job very well. I've dealt with probably every storage facility in Owensboro this past week or two and National was by far the best because of Kayla. She definitely made me a customer for life! I couldn't be any happier with the service, the unit, the facility, and everything. If you're looking for a storage unit you have to talk to Kayla at National Storage.

The area was neat, clean, well maintained and driving area inside was extremely easy to take truck and trailer in and out. Your representative, Cheryl was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and polite. Her friendly and caring demeanor is certainly an asset to your company and she deserves a bonus for going above and beyond with patience and help as I made my decision. The process of getting a unit was easy. But once I got there the print for the password gate was so small and I had problems reading it so it took me a while to get in. I called the maintenance number and left a voice mail. It took over an hour to call me back, glad I got it figured out on my own. Unit was clean, but no lock n key was inside so I used my own. Grounds are so dark at night and not very safe feeling at all. I won't be going alone.

Well I can't say anything about the girls in the office because they are very helpful and nice. But I will say I have 2 storage units one on hiway 44 and the other on fifth st. When I needed to get in the units I couldn't either get in or out ?! I went to the unit with a 28 ft uhaul( completely full) the first time I rented my unit and couldn't get in the facility. It took hours and hours for them to figure out something so I could unload my uhaul (my whole house basically). I had people helping me ready to unload but ready to go home too and this made it more than impossible! The second time I went to my other unit on 5th st ( which is a sketchy place/area ) I had homeless people living across my newly rented unit and I believe homeless people behind it as well !? I gotta admit it made me concerned for my self and my belongings . I went to leave my unit and suddenly the gate to leave would not open!! ! I called the office after hrs stating it was an emergency I couldn't get the gate to open and needed to leave and that I had a 5 hr drive back to where I moved to. After patiently waiting a return call on their emergency number with noone returning my call I had to eventually call the police and they successfully were contacted by management. The maintenance man showed up about an hour after the police were there and cussed me out telling me basically I was an idiot because it was an automatic gate exit. He worked on it and whatever else attached to the gate repeatedly trying for another at least 45 min with no success. Finally he has me drive around the side of the storage facility and he welded off the lock that was on another gate. Finally free after close to 3 1/2 hrs. Ugh . Then last month I paid my storage bill only to find they had applied my payment to the wrong storage unit . They refunded my bank account a few days later but the inconvenience I've experienced with this storage facility has been alot ! Again the ladies in the office are very helpful and nice but that doesn't mean I've had a good experience with the process !

Absolutely terrible company! Local office had a representative that was awful! Rude, obnoxious and actually told lies about me to her manager. This company will promise anything you want to hear but then never follow thru and then deny having said anything. Promise to return a phone call before 5 pm and then you never hear from them again! Stay away from this company! P.S. After this was posted they sent me the standard "we're sorry to hear this, how can we fix it?" routine message. They have had my email and phone number from the very beginning which started months ago when they bought out and took over this facility. I've had the same storage unit for nearly 20 years and never had an issue until they took over. Rates increased 80 percent in less than 1 year. Many other issues which they totally ignored until after I posted this. NOW they want to work things out! Too little too late and too many lies!

Any if any of the notifications for increases were too late to really do anything with. Since it's no longer Sumo storage they have increased three times in less than a year. Staff is absolutely atrocious. They offer no help when needed, the website and the phone number to make payments are more of a hassle. I had had my storage unit from June 13th 2021 to November 29th 2023. And that time it is just been aggravation and far more complicated to deal with them then absolutely need be
